Customers more careful in choice of ATM
The third month of operation of the system of direct notification to users of automatic teller machines of the cost of using them produced a shift back toward "own" ATMs.Monthly data from the Reserve Bank of Australia shows that 61.4 per cent of cash withdrawals at ATMs were made at a device owned by the customer's bank, up from 60.4 per cent in April, according to analysis of the data by MWE Consulting. In March 2009, the first month of the new charging system, 61.8 per cent of transactions were conducted at an own ATM.
