DJ's marketing head flees to Westpac
Westpac is continuing its executive team revamp, tapping David Jones' head of marketing and financial services, Damian Eales, to take on the role of general manager of marketing at the bank. The job covers Westpac's retail and business banking arms.Eales has more than 15 years experience in retail, including 10 years in senior management roles at David Jones. Eales will remain at the retailer until April 2011.The appointment is the latest in a series of high profile appointments to the bank, which include Jee Moon, who was promoted to the role of head of multi-brand in September. Among Eales' achievements at David Jones is the American Express co-brand he helped craft that replaced the previous store card. The initiative produced a modest improvement in returns compared with the store card that preceded it.
