DocuSign adds payments to the e-signature
Electronic signature company DocuSign has joined forces with the payments gateway provider Stripe to develop an offering called DocuSign Payments, which will bring together the signing of contacts and payment in a single online process. In a typical arrangement where DocuSign is used currently, a contact would be signed and then the customer would be asked to start another session to make the payment.DocuSign chief information officer Eric Johnson said a common response from customers was that they would like to handle signing and payment at the same time.Having Stripe as a partner means that DocuSign will integrate with Apple Pay, Android Pay, credit card schemes and, eventually, PayPal.Johnson said a merchant had to add a payment tag to the contract."We think this will be a big differentiator in the market for digital transaction management," he said.
