Elliott and Hodges take new grip on ANZ IT
ANZ will refresh the executive team handling facets of its technology and operations management, with managing director Shayne Elliott opting to take direct oversight of the work of chief information officer Scott Collary from later this year.The bank said this would reinforce the strategic role of technology.Another key change outlined yesterday is the departure later this year of Alistair Currie, the bank's chief operating officer. Currie is seeking (or may have found) a new post to "to continue his international banking career."Deputy chief executive Graham Hodges will assume responsibility for group hubs, enterprise services and group property. ANZ's "hubs" include those in Bangalore, Manila and Chengdu.Craig Sims, at present COO for enterprise services, "has been appointed to a new role as group general manager operations and services," reporting to Hodges, the bank said.Nigel Dobson, ANZ's general manager for transformation projects, will assume responsibility for wholesale digital strategy and payments transformation. Dobson will report to Maile Carnegie, the bank's group executive digital banking.Elliott said in a statement that the changes were designed to "support ANZ's strategic priorities and allow us to build on the significant progress that has been made in recent years in technology, operations and shared services."
