Foreign news: Bankers convicted in US Libor trial
Two former Rabobank workers have been convicted in a New York court of manipulating interbank lending rates - the first US convictions of traders involved in the Libor scandal, the BBC reports. Anthony Allen and Anthony Conti were charged with conspiracy to commit wire and bank fraud and committing wire fraud, by misreporting the London interbank offered rate (Libor) as it related to the US dollar. In August, a former Tokyo-based trader at UBS and Citigroup, Tom Hayes, was convicted of Libor manipulation in a London court.
