Foreign News: Crafty ATM hacking scam

A scam is emerging in which hackers reprogram ATM machines to dispense notes even when a transaction is denied. Finextra reports that the scam so far seems confined to California, and involves criminals opening the upper ATM housing and installing a device that alters the transaction response message coming back from the card issuer to the machine.
