Foreign news: HBOS bosses re-examined
Former bosses of HBOS, the collapsed UK lender, will come under intense pressure as a report into its £20.5 billion failure throws open the chance of reopening a probe into the individuals involved, the Financial Times reports. An earlier inquiry into the bank's collapse by the Parliamentary Commission on Banking Standards concluded by recommending a ban on the trio. The FCA can fine individuals only within six years of the point it is made aware of alleged wrongdoing, a period that potentially lapsed some years ago, but no such time bar exists for banning individuals from holding financial positions.
