Foreign news: New York AG says more dark pool enforcement to come, HDFC offers personal loan applica
The New York Attorney General's office has foreshadowed further action against banks for poor disclosure about the nature of their "dark pools", after announcing settlements with Barclays for US$70 million and Credit Suisse for US$84 million, Bloomberg reports. The banks were found to have misled investors about the nature of trading activity in their off-market trading platforms. New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said his office had "ongoing investigations" into other dark pools, which are estimated to account for 20 per cent of US share trading. Indian Bank HDFC is taking advantage of a rule change to distribute personal loans though ATMs, The Economic Times reports. The Reserve Bank of India has recently allowed banks to offer more branch services through ATMs and HDFC has announced that it is moving its automated personal loan system onto its 11,000 ATMs.
