Foreign news: Prepaid card cyber attack organiser pleads guilty
A Turkish man accused of organising a series of cyber attacks on payment processors has pleaded guilty in a New York court, Finextra reports. Ercan Findikoglu hacked several payment networks, seeking out Visa and MasterCard prepaid cards and increasing their account balances. The stolen card data was given to "cashing crews" who made thousands of ATM withdrawals, totalling US$55 million. In one case US$10 million was taken in 15,000 withdrawals from JPMorgan Chase cards issued to the American Red Cross.
