Foreign news: Samsung Pay launched in the US
Following a successful introduction in South Korea, Samsung has launched its mobile payments service in the United States. Finextra reports that it has the support of Visa, MasterCard and American Express, as well as Citi, Bank of America and US Bank. Samsung Pay, which uses tokenisation and fingerprint authentication technology, provides secure payments on contactless terminals. The company reported US$30 million of transactions in South Korea in the first month of operation.
