Foreign news: Tighter sanctions in the wake of Wells Fargo scandal
United States financial regulator, the Comptroller of the Currency, is considering tougher sanctions in the wake of the Wells Fargo scandal, Reuters reports. Wells Fargo has agreed to pay a US$190 million settlement after it was found to have opened as many as two million accounts without customers' knowledge. Sanctions under consideration include putting a hold an executive payments and screening new leadership.
