Healthy growth in banking and finance job ads

14 October 2014 4:36PM
The number of job ads posted on employment website SEEK has increased by more than ten per cent over the past year and the banking and finance sector has been a big contributor.SEEK said the number of job ads in September was 12.4 per cent higher than the same time last year. In-demand categories included design and architecture, trades and services and banking and finance. The growth is skewed to the non-mining states, with weaker numbers in Western Australia, Queensland and the Northern Territory.Business banking job ads were up 98.8 per cent over the 12 months, retail banking job ads were up 82.4 per cent and funds management job ads were up 61.3 per cent.SEEK said the number of applications in in-demand job categories was not keeping up with the increase in ads.
