Hisco shifts to ANZ National
ANZ National appointed David Hisco as chief executive officer to replace Jenny Fagg, who stepped down to undergo treatment for cancer.Hisco comes to ANZ's New Zealand business with a background that's mainly in commercial banking, in contrast to Fagg, who was a retail specialist. A 30-year veteran of ANZ, Hisco's previous New Zealand experience was as the managing director of UDC Finance during 1998 to 2000.His latest role is as the managing director of commercial banking for the ANZ Group, and he will retain that role as well as remain a member of the ANZ management board.Hisco was previously the managing director of Esanda. His past commercial banking experience includes a variety of management roles in business banking from 1985 to 1993, apart from UDC. Hisco's pure retail experience was just for one year when he served as the managing director of retail banking. Fagg, on the other hand, held retail roles in ANZ since she joined in 2000 and before that worked across retail banking in Citibank and KPMG.
