HSBC names new NZ head
Noel McNamara will move from his current position as head of commercial banking for HSBC Australia to become chief executive of HSBC New Zealand, the bank announced yesterday. McNamara has worked for HSBC in Australia since 1995 in various roles, including commercial and corporate banking, trade services and branch operations. Announcing the appointment, Asia Pacific group general manager Guy Harvey-Samuel said the bank's New Zealand commercial clients were increasingly looking to tap into growing regional trade. "Noel's strong commercial banking and trade finance experience will be invaluable in driving expansion within our New Zealand operations," Harvey-Samuel said.
