Lending conditions worsen for banks

Borrowing conditions worsened and demand for credit weakened over the past three months, the National Australia Bank business survey released yesterday found. The survey showed a kick in the number of businesses portraying borrowing prospects as "more difficult". The number of businesses saying they had "no borrowing required" fell to 52 per cent from around 70 per cent in each of the two prior quarters.
