Loankit sold to Mortgage Choice
Mortgage Choice yesterday said they bought many of the assets, but not the business, of Loankit, a small mortgage aggregator.Loankit has about 50 mortgage brokers as clients. Mortgage Choice has bought its information technology platforms, loan book and contracts. The firm said it made the purchase through its subsidiary, Beagle Finance.Loankit charges brokers flat fees rather than taking a percentage of the commission income paid by lenders.The monthly licence fee for a broker is $100, which is waived if they achieve certain volumes. Upfront fees are around $150 per loan.The revenues acquired by Mortgage Choice with Loankit are unknown but may only be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
