Majors turn up high LVR lending
Major banks accounted for almost all the increase in low deposit home loans over the last year, a sign of their willingness to stretch credit criteria to maintain volume growth.Quarterly data from the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority shows major banks increased their level of home loans with a loan to valuation ratio of more than 90 per cent by $1.3 billion over the year to December 2013.For all banks the increase was $1.4 billion.
