Monoghan takes the helm at Customers
Customers Limited yesterday said Greg Monoghan would take over as chair of the board of directors. He replaces Greg Baker who (along with Monoghan and others) four years ago transformed the former mining investment company into the only listed play in the automatic teller machine market. The firm is, in effect, now run by the former management of ATM Solutions, which Customers bought from Macquarie Bank two years ago. The firm owns or manages one in five ATMs in Australia. The firm is now run from Melbourne from the premises of ATM Solutions, rather than Sydney.Customers has given up on efforts to make money from ATMs in southern China, and is now focussed on the transition to direct charging that is due to come into effect in March 2009.
