More hot air from Westpac

Ian Rogers
One goal Westpac management aren't achieving is that of reducing greenhouse emissions by five per cent in 2007.

In spite of the goal - which the bank might find handy to meet in light of all those advertisements about what champs they were in addressing the consequences of climate change - Westpac's carbon emissions increased 11 per cent to 123,000 tonnes "due to growth in [the] property portfolio and employee headcount".

On a per capita basis carbon dioxide emissions increased six per cent.
