MyState searches the horizon
MyState Financial remains on the hunt for another deposit-taking entity to take over.Michael Vertigan, chair of Hobart-based MyState, told the company's annual general meeting yesterday that the company has "preserved a strong capital position which will enable us to take full advantage of the opportunities arising from an increase in economic activity."Vertigan also said that MyState will "continue to look for merger and acquisition opportunities which would provide growth, strengthening our market position and contributing additional geographic diversity."MyState bought The Rock in Queensland in late 2011.It has been pushing a similar message of a leaning towards inorganic expansion all this year.
