NAB may buy more agribusiness banks

National Australia Bank is open to investment in more agribusiness banks.

"You're probably not going to see us go into areas where there are only small peasant farms, but any areas like North America, where the farms are big, are a natural fit for us," Stewart told the Australia-Israel Chamber of Commerce.

In November NAB said it would pay US$798 million for Great Western Bancorporation, based in Sioux Falls South Dakota and which operates in six mid-western states of the US.
