NAB picks CFO
Craig Drummond, an experienced investment banker and CEO, will join National Australia Bank as finance director and head of strategy. He will start work in late 2013.Drummond, formerly of JBWere and Goldman Sachs, has been head of Merrill Lynch in Australia for the past four years. He replaces Mark Joiner who will retire after seven years. Joiner started NAB in the second half of 2006 after stints with Citi and the Boston Consulting Group. The selection of Drummond may stir up conjecture among the list of internal candidates to replace Cameron Clyne as chief executive, and whether he provides the board with another option alongside the head of retail, Lisa Grey, and the head of wholesale, Rick Sawyers.
