Selling National Australia Bank to an Asian name is one promising strategic choice apparently occupying thinking on the NAB board.A firm proposal could be on the table any time if each side in the bargain is willing.One willing name at NAB is chief executive Andrew Thorburn, who is said to have made opening up this option up a particular priority.In Ken Henry, Thorburn has an econocrat as chair with fair connections into influential Asian ranks. Henry, a former Treasury secretary, brings Canberra insight and a gauge for the limits of reform.Banking Day is unsure how close to NAB is to selecting a buyer or even settling finally on the merit of this option.We're confident the above is on the money.
