The Australian and New Zealand division of German software giant SAP provided some commentary on its work for National Australia Bank in the context of publicising some aspects of its local business.
SAP chief in Australia Tim Ebbeck said in a statement the company recorded overall revenue growth year on year of 11 per cent, making the local division the "most outstanding SAP hub in the world" for the second year running.
He did not say what this revenue was, though in 2008 SAP turned over $357 million in the local market.
Ebbeck said one of the significant customers SAP won in the last quarter of 2009 was the National Australia Bank, which chose SAP to support what the software firm described as the bank's "business operations" strategy and using the general ledger, human resources and procurement capabilities of SAP's software line-up.
Ebbeck told
ZDNet that the single ledger will cover all the elements of the bank, and provide "backbone financials ability for the bank to then build upon with core banking and treasury and all their other systems on top of that."
