NECDL signs with three information brokers
National Electronic Conveyancing Development Ltd, which is building Australia's new electronic property exchange, has announced that it will work with three information brokers on the project.In a media release, issued yesterday, NECDL said GlobalX Information, InfoTrack and SAI Global would deliver electronic conveyancing and settlements.NECDL said the three groups covered 90 per cent of the market. NECDL's new property exchange, PEXA, will be integrated into the three established platforms.PEXA is going through tests in Victoria and is scheduled for commercial release in the state in June. The involvement of land titles registries in other states will follow later in the year.Electronic conveyancing has been on the drawing board since 2008. Last year, the New South Wales Parliament passed the Electronic Conveyancing (Adoption of National Law) Act 2012, which became uniform national legislation after the other states and territories agreed to adopt it.A financial settlement process is presently in development in conjunction with the Reserve Bank. But there is no schedule for its implementation yet.Online settlements on the PEXA platform will include new mortgages, mortgage discharges, transfers and caveats.
