Origin profit evaporates

ANZ acknowledged yesterday that Origin Mortgage Management Services, its wholesale mortgage distribution business, may be making next to no profit in the current climate.The bank has Origin on the market following an approach to buy the business back in June.Whether there is much commercial interest in Origin is doubtful. Those non-bank funders who were rumoured to be seeking to buy this business must be having second thoughts.
