Pensioner sues Cash Converters lenders
Melbourne's Consumer Action Law Centre is representing a Victorian disability pensioner in a claim against two Cash Converters lenders. The Victorian Magistrates' Court has been asked to consider whether the lenders complied with the responsible lending provisions of the National Consumer Credit Protection Act, whether certain contracts were unjust, whether the lenders met their disclosure obligations and whether they engaged in unconscionable conduct.The pensioner was provided with 55 short-term credit contracts over a three-year period at one Cash Converters store and four loan contracts at another
