Peppermint Innovation Limited, a Perth based ASX-listed provider of mobile banking, payments and remittance technology, yesterday unveiled an agreement with CIS Bayad Center (CBCI) in the Philippines.CBCI is the leading over-the-counter multiple bills payment collection business in the country, according to a note outlining the deal, filed with the ASX yesterday. The deal gives Peppermint Innovation access to the country's largest bill aggregator, connected to more than 200 billers. The Peppermint Platform is also being used by several large commercial banks in the Philippines, a market that PIL has nominated as the proving ground for its platforms. The latest news on CBCI comes after PIL announced earlier this month that UnionBank of the Philippines, which uses Peppermint's platform to offer mobile banking services to its account holders via the UMobile application, is aiming to increase registered users across this platform by a factor of 50 times, from 50,000 to 2,500,000 registered users.
