Phone banking proves resilient
Phone banking is showing some endurance as a banking channel, data compiled by Roy Morgan Research shows.In its State of the Nation report, Roy Morgan said 18.9 per cent of people had used phone banking at some time in the previous four weeks, according to a sample taken in early 2013. This proportion was higher than 15 years ago. The proportion is also higher than in mid-2012.Internet banking was used by 51 per cent of people. Forty-one per cent of people said they still visited bank branches, however.
