POS 'superstars' target mobile payments
Cadmus chairman Peter Maire also announced yesterday a co-operative research and development relationship with Navaco, the owners of the marine navigation technology Maire developed, called Navman and sold. "The future of terminals is not linked to PSTN landlines," said Maire "The Navman techos that are building new fish finders and the like will also now be working on new terminals for us.""It's a global industry and for me a big question is 'if you can produce a GPRS handset for US$25, what's the price point you can reach for a wireless payment terminal'?"Maire has restructured Cadmus's executive ranks and injected many of the people who worked with him at Navman. GFG director Ann Howard has also joined the Cadmus board, bringing some added mobile payments expertise. "We are building a team of superstars here," said Maire "The people who developed and brought Navman to market will now have the IP that Cadmus and Provenco own, the hardware and go to market capability."
