Problem payments persist for NAB

01 December 2010 5:46PM
National Australia Bank's wish to say "it's all fixed" when it is not fully fixed is a fierce one, it seems. Yesterday afternoon NAB conceded what customers continue to notice, and was reported yesterday on talkback radio and social media platforms, which is that some people are still to receive money owed from the second half of last week. Incorrect presentation of balances in internet banking also continue to irritate customers, as do wait times of 30 minutes for service from branches, and call centres, in some cases. NAB last night advised customers that the majority of customer payments and transactions have been completed and account balances are up-to-date. "Some customers may still be experiencing inconsistencies," the bank conceded, and went on to provide, for a sixth day, an assurance that NAB was "working to address this issue as soon as possible". A bank spokesman said yesterday that 5000 customers had sought compensation.
