Relaunch for David Jones co-brand
The co-branded credit card of David Jones will receive a "relaunch" next month, management of the retail chain said at an investor presentation yesterday.David Jones introduced the co-brand, which is issued by American Express, around this time two years ago.DJs said it needed to "focus on spend and balance to deliver profit growth beyond 2013".The retailer said it recorded a rise in earnings before interest and tax on its financial services business of 7.5 per cent in the year to July 2010 to $44.4 million, and an improvement from relatively flat EBIT growth in prior periods.Seventy-five per cent of spending on the Amex co-brand is outside David Jones.
