SAP establishes local financial services business unit
Software supplier SAP will set up business units in Australia and New Zealand covering financial services and public services.SAP Australia and New Zealand managing director John Ruthven said in a statement that the dedicated business units would allow the company to meet clients' "unique requirements".SAP's Australian financial services clients include Macquarie Group, which is installing an SAP core banking system, ANZ, Commonwealth Bank and National Australia Bank.The company claims that 92 per cent of Australian and New Zealand banks in the Forbes Global 2000 are its customers.SAP Australia and New Zealand financial services general manager, Tony Armfield, said: "The key differentiator our dedicated financial services business unit will bring to our customers is the ability to better leverage SAP's financial service expertise in a more co-ordinated and streamlined fashion to deliver on the innovation agenda."What we will also achieve is the elevation of the Australia and New Zealand financial services industry innovation globally, capturing the success of our local customers and sharing best practice."
