Silver Chef up 50 per cent
Business equipment financier Silver Chef yesterday reported a 53 per cent increase in net profit for the year to June. Profit moved up from $3.6 million to $5.5 million on the back of a 40 per cent increase in rental income.Silver Chef has a specialist hospitality industry asset rental and finance business and a general commercial equipment finance business, GoGetta. The businesses operate on a rent, try, buy model.The hospitality division has rental assets worth $90.4 million and GoGetta has assets of $19.1 million.Silver Chef chairman Allan English said in a statement that the model had strong appeal for businesses looking to conserve scarce working capital. English said the company had a new $74.7 million Commonwealth Bank facility, signed off in July, that would support growth in the business in the current year.
