Spike in online banking
MyState Bank reported that the share of overall customer transactions made using ATMs for cash withdrawal fell 29 per cent in April, compared with the previous month.Online BPAY payments and NPP transactions were both up 20 per cent, month-on-month. PayPal transactions were up 40 per cent and Visa debt transactions were up 8 per cent.New registrations for the bank's internet and mobile banking services are 55 per cent higher than the 12-month average and the number of customers actively using these channels is up by 4 per cent since the introduction of social distancing.The bank is offering online tutorials to help customers who are new to online banking.
