Two of Commonwealth Bank's key banking applications, CommSee (which gives staff a complete view of retail customer accounts) and CommBiz (an online service for business customers) are experiencing "extensive problems" according to advice from the bank to staff and reported by the
Herald Sun.
The newspaper reported that retail customers experienced delays getting loan approvals and opening new accounts through branches. The Herald Sun quoted CBA as confirming that the systems were unable to cope with demand at peak periods.
CBA said the systems issues caused delays but did not affect customer transactions.
Upgrades in late July to underlying applications provided by Oracle are reported to be behind the problem.
