Thai coup does not deter ANZ

ANZ is closer to obtaining a banking license in Thailand, with approval from the now ousted Minister of Finance to establish a subsidiary.   Paul Edwards, head of corporate communications at ANZ, said yesterday that the process to receive a licence may take up to a further 12 months.ANZ has been seeking a banking licence for a number of years in Thailand and in the past explored a takeover of TMB Bank, formerly known as the Thai Military Bank.
