Westpac maintains edge among business customers
Banks received steady scorecards yesterday from two regular monitors of the state of customer service satisfaction.DBM Consultants' regular survey of the satisfaction levels of banks' business customers detected little change in the rankings of major banks.DBM continues to rank Westpac as the bank with the highest score of the Big Four - 7.4 out of 10, on the scale used by the research firm. The alternative survey, from Roy Morgan Research, shows improvements for Commonwealth Bank and National Australia Bank over the last year, but no change in their rankings.Roy Morgan, like DBM, ranked Westpac first for business customer satisfaction and Commonwealth Bank second, followed by NAB and then ANZ.Norman Morris, industry communications director at Roy Morgan, highlighted the divergence between the NAB's satisfaction scores. Among NAB's personal banking customers, 80.5 per cent said they were satisfied, the highest of any large bank, while, among the bank's business customers, just 63.1 per cent said they were satisfied.
