WorldRemit rocks in remittances
Remittances sent from Singapore surpassed US$6.2 billion in 2015, and WorldRemit is hunting a share of that, maybe late this time.The digital money transfer service has launched an operation in the city state. WorldRemit's reach is "over 140 countries" and the offer is that its "as easy as sending an instant message, using the WorldRemit app or website."It's an intra-Asia market, of course. Key recipients include the Philippines, China, Malaysia, Indonesia and India, World Bank data shows.APAC now accounts for almost 25 per cent of all transactions sent by WorldRemit globally, the company said.
