David Marshall has been appointed as the next CEO of Beyond Bank.
This follows the resignation, late last year, of Jake Bromwich, the short-lived CEO of the bank.
Marshall, CEO of Ultradata, has more than 35 years’ experience in Australia’s banking sector, previously leading two mutual banks, Defence Bank and Hume Bank, and prior to that, holding senior executive positions at both Commonwealth Bank and Westpac.
Currently based in Melbourne, Marshall will relocate to Adelaide, and take up the role in the last week of March.
“I am thrilled to join Beyond Bank as I have long admired its strong community credentials and the impact it has in those communities and the people who are part of those communities,” Marshall said.
Marshall is likely to re-examine an aborted merger with P&N Bank, an agreement called off as details of Bromwich’s complicated history as CEO of Westpac’s RAMS brand seeped into the public domain last year.
Marshall takes over from interim CEO Wayne Matters.
