Briefs: ACCC approves NAB’s Citi deal, ScotPac expands product range
The ACCC will not oppose NAB’s proposed acquisition of Citigroup’s Australian consumer banking business. The regulator said its review of the deal found that it would not substantially lessen competition. It focused on the credit card market, where Citi is a substantial provider of services, and found there would still be competition for card services. Citi announced in April that Australia is one of 13 markets where it plans to exit consumer banking.
Business lender ScotPac, a specialist in debtor, asset and trade finance, has launched a range of new products that take property security. ScotPac chief executive Jon Sutton said the company was aiming to reach a much bigger pool of business customers. The company is promising fast turnaround and personalised service with a relationship manager.
