Australian Financial Group has appointed Lisa Bevan as its chief operating officer. Bevan has been at AFG since 1998 and has been company secretary since 2001. Michelle Palethorpe, AFG’s general counsel, will take over as company secretary. Former banker Margaret Payn will join the board of Bendigo and Adelaide Bank in September as a non-executive director. Payn’s most recent executive position was chief financial officer at AMP Capital. She was previously group managing director of strategy and marketing at ANZ, where she was also CFO of the retail bank. She has held senior positions at Westpac, Schroders and Citigroup.
