  • AMP Bank has revamped its AMP Saver Account, hoping to attract customers with an attractive bonus rate. For accounts opened from April 1, the account will have a base rate of 10 basis points and a bonus rate of 115 bps on amounts up to $250,000 for those who deposit $250 or more each month. The bank is trying to turn things around after losing more than 10 per cent of its household deposit balances over the past six months.

  • Small business lender Lumi is claiming a first for the SME loan market after adding a “payment pause” feature to its products. Borrowers with a term business loan can take a payment holiday for four weeks – “no questions asked and with no interest charged or accrued”. The payment pause can be used once during the term of a loan.
