Briefs: ASIC puts stop order on humm BNPL, ACCC deputy chair reappointed
humm group has stopped selling its buy now pay later product to new customers after receiving a stop order from ASIC. humm said in a statement that the regulator has concerns about the target market determination of the products sold by its subsidiary humm BNPL Pty Ltd. It said it will continue to service existing BNPL customers.
Deputy chair of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, Mick Keogh, has been reappointed for a further five-year term. Keogh was appointed assistant commissioner in 2016 and deputy chair in 2018. Before joining the ACCC he was executive director of the Australian Farm Institute.
