Briefs: BNK board changes, Earlypay's RevRoof matter resolved
Warren McLeland, a former stockbroker and investment banker, has joined the board of BNK Banking Corp. McLeland is also chair of the board of Resimac Group. He replaces Don Koch, who had a long stint as BNK’s chair and formally stepped down yesterday. BNK is currently chaired by leading financial services lawyer Jon Denovan.
Almost a year to the day after business finance company Earlypay reported that its biggest debtor RevRoof had gone bust, the company announced yesterday that all outstanding legal proceedings in relation to the matter have been resolved. When RevRoof went into administration on December 7 last year, Earlypay’s net exposure was A$29 million. The company booked a $10.4 million loss in its 2022/23 accounts. Yesterday it said $8.4 million held in trust pending the resolution of legal disputes would be released and that it did not expect to report any additional credit loss. It will recognise $1 million of recovery expenses in its 2023/24 accounts, which is in addition to the $3.9 million recognised in 2022/23.
