The company said the acquisition will broaden its offer to include non-card, non-scheme payment products, with a focus on open banking. EML is paying A$112.7 million upfront and up to $64.4 million on an earn-out basis. Zip Co has entered into an agreement with Microsoft to integrate Zip into the tech company’s browser Microsoft Edge. Zip will be a digital payment option for the “shopping experience” in the browser, which runs on 1.3 billion devices.
