Hawker has also worked as chief executive of IAG and deputy managing director of Citibank in Australia. He is retiring from the Macquarie Group and Macquarie Bank boards prior to his start at Westpac. Hawker replaces Alison Deans, who is retiring. The increase in the contactless card payment limit from A$100 to $200 has been extended for a second time and will now operate until December 17. Australian Payments Network said it will “continue to review and make decisions, pending government advice.”
