  • Former CoreLogic Australia and New Zealand managing director Graham Mirabito has joined the board of Genworth Mortgage Insurance Australia. He replaces Christine Patton, who is retiring after two years on the Genworth board. Mirabito is also a director of Cipherpoint, Harcourts International, Auscred Services and Archistar.
  • ACCC veteran Scott Gregson has been appointed as the commission’s chief operating officer. Gregson started his career at the ACCC in 1996, joining as a graduate. He was most recently executive general manager of the enforcement division, where he led litigation teams. He replaces Rayne de Gruchy, who retired in April.
  • The increase in the contactless card payment limit from A$100 to $200, which was to run until the end of July, has been extended to September 17. Australian Payments Network said it would keep the matter under review and consult with government before issuing any further updates. The increase, which is at the discretion of merchants, has been designed so that fewer consumers will need to touch a payment terminal when purchasing.
