Briefs: New head of retail at MyState, AFCA makes a senior appointment, Mortgage Choice delisted 21 June 2021 6:17AM Banking Day staff Briefs, Appointments, MyState Bank, Broker, M&A MyState Bank has appointed Huw Bough to lead its retail banking business. Bough worked at MyState before, serving as group general manager retail banking, business banking and broker. Two years ago he went off to work with on a new business venture with Avant Defence, a medical indemnity insurer. His CV also includes roles at Westpac and RAMS. The Australian Financial Complaints Authority has appointed Paul Kearney as its executive general manager people and culture. Kearney moves to AFCA from ME Bank where he was general manager of people experience and business partnering since 2017. He has also worked at Deloitte, where he was chief of staff HR transformation for Europe, Middle east and Africa, and at Fairfax and the BBC in employee relations roles. The shares of mortgage broker franchise group Mortgage Choice were suspended from quotation on the ASX on Friday after the takeover of the company by REA Group received court approval. REA acquired Mortgage Choice for A$244 million and will merge it with its own finance broking division, Smartline.
