Briefs: Sutton takes the reins at Scotpac, Xero completes Waddle buy, Thorn director resigns

  • Receivables finance company Scotpac (formerly Scottish Pacific) has appointed former Bank of Queensland chief executive Jon Sutton as its new CEO. Sutton replaces long-serving CEO Peter Langham, who announced his retirement in July. Langham will continue to serve as a Scotpac director. Sutton is also chair of BNK Banking Group.

 

  • Accounting software company Xero has completed its acquisition of Waddle, a local invoice finance company. Waddle has provided around A$330 million of finance since it was launched in 2014. The deal is worth $31 million upfront and up to $49 million on an earnout basis.

 

  • Former Credit Agricole Australia and Suncorp executive, Kent Bird, has resigned from the Thorn Group board after just one year. Bird was deputy chair of the board and chair of the remuneration and nomination committee.
